We Need Your Help!
We need 4 of this type of can for Raku pottery night's at the OCC. We also need newspaper for these classes. If you have any pots or trash cans with lids you would like to donate, please bring to the OCC during office hours.
Thanks to the community, we'll be getting this class up and running soon! Clay artist, Jan Bell, donated a kiln for the project, and Doug Stiltner is transforming it into a gas Raku kiln. Brandon from AZ ZipLine is buying other parts with money raised at last year's FAM Fest.
Raku night's will be starting soon. This will be a fun art project for the community.
The last two photos above are examples of Raku pottery leaves. Laura Stiltner will be bring bisque items you can purchase and glaze with the raku glazes that will be provided.
We will fire up to 12 pieces at each raku evening and you get take your art piece home that night. Look up Raku pottery so you have an idea what it is we are talking about. Check the Website for dates and more information very soon. Hope to have a raku demonstration before the end of August.
